It all started with patches. Jordan has been making and selling iron-on, embroidered patches through Etsy for over a decade. Mostly licensed characters and family friendly designs. He decided a few years ago that he wanted to make a different type of patch, ones that were adult themed, naughty and a stark difference from the current catalogue of designs. When he started working on these patch designs, he decided that his art could easily translate across multiple product types. One of our core concepts that customers will see throughout most of Burly Bottom Designs is the ability to have the base color of the product (shirt, tank top, etc.) have a direct impact on the design with creative use of negative space. In patches, we have made all colors customizable to match your style (Change the skin color, hair color, gear color, etc…) and have tried to extend that feeling of customization throughout all products when possible.

Jordan has been creating his entire life. He has always loved colors (His hair has been various shades of Blue for all of his 40’s. Drawing has always been a passion of his, and later in life, human sexuality also became much more fascinating and the merger of the two have resulted in what you will see as you shop throughout our site. He finds inspiration in male presenting bodies. There are multiple designs featuring models from the Houston area, where they call home. He repeatedly states “I am having more fun with this than any other venture I have ever pursued.”

Jordan likes to joke that he is fully aware that his designs are not for everyone and not always safe for work. In fact, he always says “…some are not even safe for the grocer store!” You’ll see that we have adopted this and categorized all of designs into three categories. SFW (Safe for work), NSFW (NOT Safe for work), and NSFG (Not Safe for the Grocery Store) That last one is our favorite.

Jordan met his (now husband) Chris in the height of Covid in 2020 at a responsible, socially distanced date … well it started out that way anyway. It has been a relationship of growth, encouragement and passion. Chris is also gifted with great technical knowledge and expertise that has been insurmountable as we took on the huge venture to move Burly Bottom Designs off of the Etsy platform and into our own online ecommerce marketplace, with functionality that has far surpassed our previous platform and allows for a much easier, streamlined, and even fun, shopping experience.

Together Jordan and Chris work all aspects of the business together including design concepts, product selection, marketing, technical, sales, etc. Just like every other part of their relationship, they complement each other tremendously well, and it shows.

We love to create and provide products that are just like us: colorful, unapologetic, sexual, erotic, proud, VERY gay, and not at all subtle. (You will get noticed!)

In June of 2024, we made our first public sales appearance at Houston Pride 365 and any worries we had regarding a place in the market for us were quickly dismissed as our Cum Rags were the talk of the pride festival as many came in search of the products they heard about. We have many more in person vendor events planned and can’t wait to get more eyes on our goodies….and our products too ;).
